A young man in our community has had a serious accident which damaged his spine and means he will have to use a wheelchair for the foreseeable future. Social Services have provided him with a wheelchair for everyday use.
The young man in question is keen on sport and cannot participate with the wheelchair provided; social services do not provide sports wheels.
The committee of the Association voted to help by launching the “Wheel Appeal” in order to raise funds for the purchase of a pair of sporting wheels. These have to be specially made and cost £530 for the pair.
If you or any of your friends would like to make a donation please fill in the form at the back and return to:
“Wheel Appeal”, c/o 86 Chelsworth Road, Felixstowe, IP11 2UJ
Please make cheques payable to “Cavendish Park Community Association” and write on the back “Wheel Appeal”. Receipts will be given for all donations.
On behalf of the young man I would like to say thank you for any contribution, however small, you are able to make.
Barry Farr,
Hon. Chairman
To all contributors,
A big thank you to all who were able to make a donation to the "Wheel Appeal" which raised the magnificent sum of £804.10p.
You may wonder where the 10p came from, well, Grange C.P. School held a cake stall one day after school and raised £63.10p. Well done to them.
I would, also, like to thank Emma Hollis, who negotiated a £100 donation from Collective Opportunities, part of the County Council’s Children and Young Peoples Services. And to the person who wishes to remain anonymous, for the very generous donation they made.
This display of generosity, by members of this community, shows that the Spirit of community is alive and flourishing in this part of Felixstowe.
Once again thank you all.
Barry Farr,
Hon. Chairman
